How to play Orbit Sling
Orbit Sling is a gravity slingshot puzzle. Pull back, release, and bend the probe around planets into the target ring. There are 30 levels and nothing to install.
One drag is all you need
Touch the screen and pull back, then let go to launch. You can start anywhere except the top button row, so you never have to find the launcher. The probe flies opposite to your pull, like a slingshot. The length of the pull sets the power: about a third of the screen width is full power.
Releasing close to where you started cancels the shot. A second finger touching the screen while you aim also cancels it. Releasing outside the canvas still launches.
Trajectory preview
While you drag, a dotted line shows where the probe will go and fades toward its end. The preview is the same calculation the real flight uses, so the dots and the actual path always match. Later levels show a shorter preview.
| Levels | Preview |
|---|---|
| 1-3 | 3.0 s |
| 4-5 | 2.5 s |
| 6-10 | 1.5 s |
| 11-15 | 1.2 s |
| 16-20 | 1.0 s |
| 21-25 | 0.9 s |
| 26-30 | 0.7 s |
If the dotted line ends on a planet or asteroid, a cross marks the spot. That aim will crash, so change the angle or power.
Six kinds of bodies
- Planet: pulls the probe with gravity. The closer you pass the more it bends, and touching one fails the shot.
- Moving planet: circles along a dotted orbit. It stays still while you aim and starts moving the moment you launch.
- Repulsor: drawn as a hollow ring, it pushes the probe away. You can fly straight through it.
- Asteroid: no gravity, but touching it fails the shot. Think of it as a wall.
- Wormhole (from level 13): a pair of teal double rings. Enter one and you leave the centre of its partner at the same speed. The dotted line breaks at the entrance and resumes at the exit.
- Black hole (from level 18): a small dark disc circled by an orange dotted ring. It pulls far harder than a planet and touching the disc fails the shot. Use it from a distance for a gentle bend.
The orange ring is the target. The moment the probe enters it the level is cleared. A shot also ends if the probe crashes, leaves the chart, or keeps circling for ten seconds, and then you can fire again. Tapping the screen during a flight stops it, and that shot still counts.
Stars
Reaching the goal earns one star, and each gold star you fly through on the way adds one more, up to three. Gold stars sit on a path that always works, and your shot count does not affect the rating. Skimming close to a planet shows a Slingshot! flash and changes the trail colour. Clearing levels with a single shot in a row shows a streak on the clear screen. Replaying keeps your best result. A level unlocks once you clear the one before it.
Keyboard controls
| Key | Action |
|---|---|
| Left / Right | Angle by 0.5 degrees (hold Shift for 5) |
| Up / Down | Power by 1% |
| Space / Enter | Launch |
| R | Reset |

| Tab | Move between menu items |
Keyboard aiming starts from your last shot, or 90 degrees at 50% power if you have not fired yet.
Saving
Your progress is stored in your browser's localStorage and contains only the stars for each level and your language choice. Nothing is sent to a server and there are no accounts. Clearing site data resets your progress.
